Tonight we went to Akbars in The Butts after multiple recommendations. The Restaurant is a little like the Tardis as it only looks small from the outside, but is huge on the inside. The restaurant itself is beautiful and clean, and has small booths for intimate dining. We were shown straight to our table and the usual round of Cobra wasn't far behind. The Poppadoms were very fresh and the pickles were lovely and chilled. The mint yogurt also had a spicy kick to it which we were informed was a little chat powder added to it. For my starter tonight I tried the King Prawn Purée which was excellent tasting and very filling, served with a side salad. My main course was Lamb Jalfrezi with Pilau Rice and a chappati and it was served at just the right heat for my liking, hot and tasty. Overall I can recommend Akbars to anyone who wants a restaurant to impress, be it the lovely spacious restaurant, the lovely food or the excellent staff. The only thing that could improve Akbars would be a few more adventurous main courses that make it stand out from the crowd.
