This week it was my choice of restaurant and after a browse I decided on Agra Palace in Nuneaton, From the outside this restaurant looks as if it is going to be a very small, but it is in fact quite spacious, clean and modern inside. As usual we started the meal off with our order of popadoms and chutneys which was all fresh and tasty. For starter I went for my usual choice of Shami kebab, when they arrived they were nice and hot and tasted beautiful, along with a generous helping of mint sauce they were possibly some of the nicest Shami Kebab I've tasted yet, unfortunately for my meal this is where the enjoyment ended, I played it safe this week and went for a medium Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilah Rice and a Cheese Naan Bread. The main course was quite bland, the chicken had a sort of mushy texture to it and the sauce had very little taste considering a tikka masala is usually a safe bet for a very tasty curry. The cheese naan bread was very nice though, it was fresh and fluffy and it was covered in cheese which you don't always get. Away from the meal the service in the restaurant was quite good, we weren't left waiting for very long at all and the waiter who brought us our meals had a good sense of humour telling us the curries had just been delivered from ASDA. Overall an average meal with a few good points and bad points but it doesn't quite match up to some of the meals we've had in recent weeks.
