This week The Longford Curry Club paid a visit to Bengal Delight in Holbrooks, Coventry. Upon arrival we were greeted and taken to our table and were given our menus and left to choose what we wanted. A few minutes later the waiter came over and asked if we'd like a drink, so we chose our drinks and recieved them shortly after. It then seemed as though we were forgotten about, for nearly half an hour we sat there, not even asked if we wanted Popadoms before ordering. Eventually we recieved the popadoms we wanted, but by the time our starters arrived we had been in the restaurant for just short of an hour. For starter I went with Chicken Puri, the starter was nice with some good flavours however the puri themselves were not the best. For main course I went with a Chicken Murgh Noorani with Pilau Rice and Cheese Naan. Brian ordered a Saag Paneer as a side dish for his main but got given a Saag Aloo and was told by the waiter he definitely ordered Saag Aloo, this also happened to a  customer on the table next to us when he was informed by the waiter he had ordered a different meal to what he was given, which we found a strange coincendence, perhaps they just didn't have what we ordered and tried to convince us we were all losing out minds. The main course had some nice flavours however my curry was filled with onion, I'm not a big fan of onion but I can handle a bit, but this curry was full of them. The chicken in the curry was nice, big pieces however. My cheese naan was quite bland in taste, almost tasting as though it had no cheese on it. Overall I wasn't impressed at all with this meal, the service alone even before we placed our order got us off to a bad start and it didn't get much better.
