This week we travelled to Warwick to the Saffron Gold Restaurant. First impressions were that the restaurant was beautiful and clean with well presented staff. We were shown to our table almost straight away and ordered the usual Poppadoms with chutneys which arrived at the table soon after. The Poppadoms were very fresh and the chutneys were a lovely accompaniment. For my starter I went for the Nargis Kebab which was well presented with an omelette draped over the kebab. A fresh side salad made it a tasty starter which I would certainly recommend. The choice for my main course took me a little time to choose as there are plenty of dishes to choose from. I went for the Tandoori Tiger Prawn Jalfrezi with Pilau Rice and a Palok Paneer side dish with a Purée Bread. The main dish was well presented and had a lovely chilli kick to give it a lasting taste. The Palok Paneer was a let down with little taste. Overall, for a Tuesday night, the restaurant was very busy, which tells you that it must be popular, and I would recommend a trip to Warwick to try this restaurant.
